GENERAL INFORMATION

Students at this level are competent at improvisation, have experience with varying forms and styles of theatre and understand the importance of developing an expressive voice for speech. Students will be able to competently create speeches in forms of persuasive and informative text as well as create convincing arguments for team debating.

The advanced level is about consolidating everything learnt and being able to adapt it to their own work and needs. Storytelling at this level forms the basis of many lessons. Becoming characters in interesting monologues, characters in set text and devised are a focus of classes at this level.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN A CLASS?

N-QADA classes are capped at 10 students per class to ensure all students have opportunities to be taught individually as well as having the time to present in front of the class.

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO DO AN EXAM?

This is strongly encouraged,  as students are able to submit their results to Education Queensland which may contribute to their overall Grade 12 result. The students develop essential communication skills that help in the future. An AMEB qualification is recognised nationally and internationally. Each candidate will receive a certificate recognising their achievement.

WILL MY CHILD GET ANY PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES?

Most definately! Please bear in mind however that at this level students maybe heavily involved with their schoolwork. Students are encouraged to participate in the N-QADA Fringe performance during Term 4. This is held in the Peace Lutheran Drama Room.

WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO WEAR TO THE CLASS?

Our students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.
